Wake Tech: Perry Health Sciences Campus’ Health Science Building Renovation

Supporting Wake Tech’s Mission

To support Wake Tech’s mission to “improve and enrich lives by meeting the lifelong education, training, and workforce development needs of the communities it serves,” the third floor of the Health Sciences Building on the Perry Health Sciences Campus underwent a complete renovation.

Supporting State-of-the-Art Learning

This 11,882-square-foot project was designed to elevate advanced learning for high-demand health care fields such as nursing, dental hygiene, and emergency medical science. The renovation creates an educational environment specifically tailored to support students’ professional development.

Reimagining Clinical Spaces

Boomerang Design reimagined the simulated dental clinic, creating modern operatories, sterilization areas, and support spaces that mimic clinical environments. These upgraded facilities are crucial for fostering a practical learning experience.

Upgrading Medical Laboratories

Renovations also improved medical laboratories to reflect industry standards. These updates ensure that the resources available to students are in line with current practices and technologies.

Promoting Collaboration + Comfort

Additionally, updates to student and faculty areas have been made to support collaboration, productivity, and comfort. These enhancements are designed to create an engaging atmosphere conducive to learning and socialization.

Preparing Students for Meaningful Careers

These improvements ensure that students receive the hands-on training needed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and workforce readiness, effectively preparing them for meaningful careers in health care.
