Integrating Education + Community
At the core of the project is Movement Freedom Middle School, thoughtfully connected to the new 47,800-square-foot OGB Community Center, forming a lively, education-focused community hub. This welcoming facility includes a 1,100-seat gymnasium, adaptable community rooms, a teaching kitchen for culinary and nutrition programs, a fully equipped fitness center, and versatile spaces designed to support both educational activities and wider community events.

Design Challenges + Solutions
A central design challenge was integrating these varied functions into a single cohesive facility that is both easy to manage and adaptable to future expansion. Located on a former big-box retail parking lot, the OGB Community Center is strategically placed to connect nearby retail, multifamily housing, fast-food establishments, and a K–5 school—transforming an underused site into a vivid, well-connected community destination.
Promoting Social Interaction Through Design
Interior finishes and furniture were selected to inspire daily interaction and foster a sense of belonging. Features like hallway window seats, informal gathering nooks, and whimsical low-height porthole windows invite moments of connection and exploration, encouraging students, families, and neighbors to pause, converse, and engage with the space.

A Timeless, Branded Aesthetic
A timeless neutral palette establishes a calm, durable backdrop that supports ease of maintenance, while bold pops of color and impactful graphic elements reinforce branding and wayfinding. The result is an environment that feels welcoming, contemporary, and inclusive—equally suited for school-day learning, evening programs, and weekend community events.
By weaving together education, wellness, recreation, and community services under one roof, the OGB Community Center advances the shared vision of its partners: to create a dynamic, accessible place where relationships are built, opportunities expand, and social equity is actively cultivated.
