Cross Assembly, one of the largest churches in Raleigh, has embarked on a three-phase renovation of its warehouse space to expand its children’s and youth ministries at the Yonkers Road Campus. Boomerang collaborated with the church leadership to explore and establish project opportunities and budget and scheduling parameters through a cooperative design process.
The outcome is a complex renovation of an active facility across three phases. This project includes the design of a Kids Activity Hall, which will feature a 200-seat Worship Center, an active play space, a support kitchen, and restrooms. Additionally, it will incorporate a 250-seat Youth Worship Center, a youth activity area with a half-size indoor soccer court and cage, group collaboration areas, new entryways, a storage warehouse, and a separate office suite for tenants.
The interior design will blend high-quality and industrial elements, balancing lower-cost options, such as sealed concrete floors, with striking high-design materials.
